A short while ago, I witnessed an invitation sent out over the communication network to which the devices we were given are connected... a gathering, of sorts, for those deemed as "refugees"...
[He pauses, thinking briefly on his words before speaking them out. Speaking on the fly is not precisely his strong suit.]
I spent some time exchanging questions with an individual responsible for organizing the gathering, and they professed an interest in trying an ingredient associated with our home. I wondered if it might be alright to create some elder nutmeg to add to a communal dish... that is, so long as we do not carelessly introduce it into the environment.
[ He crosses his arms and bows his head to give himself time to think. It has been so long since their era that he-- well, to be honest, he doesn't remember the particulars of that strain of flora. That would have been Halmarut's area of expertise. ]
As long as you only create whatever is necessary for the meal and consume the nuts entirely, I see no reason why not.
[After hearing the response, Erichthonios visibly brightens, the smile returning to his countenance.]
My thanks for your guidance, Emet-Selch.
Should you be interested in attending, it will be hosted in the city known as Kyoto. I had thought to ask Themis...
[He pauses again, smile turning bashful. He knew Themis as Themis, and readily calls him as such, but he is also very much aware of his title... and how the members of the Convocation refer to their peers by said titles, rather than their true names.]
...that is, Elidibus... if he would like to come, since it is a gathering of peoples. Perhaps Hythlodaeus might be interested, too...?
[Though he does not know Hythlodaeus quite so well...]
[He is very much on true-name terms with said Emissary. As much as it began with Themis using said name to disguise his position as he pursued his investigation of Pandæmonium, Erichthonios has had little desire to switch over to referring to him by his proper title in their interactions even after gaining knowledge of it.
...and, for a mercy, Themis has not seemed to mind at all. A thought that fills him with a pleasant warmth whensoever it occurs. He enjoys spending time with his friend.
Though, as far as spending time with others, it would seem he would not be attending the party with Emet-Selch. Yet the mention of Hythlodaeus being amenable rekindles some of the hopeful spark in the young man. As does the mention of Azem. It would be nice not to go alone.]
[ Sometime after their dinner with Rhea'li, Azem feels it's time to finally talk to Hades and get his part of the story. It's been so long since they last spoke they aren't sure how to best go about it so they decide to just summon him.
They aren't a chef like Rhea'li, but they still try to have some food and drink waiting if Hades does choose to respond to the summons. Granted, it's just a bunch of food they picked up from one of the local shops. ]
[ Azem's absence has been weighing heavily on his mind. Even so, it startles him to receive a summons out of the blue. He had been resigning himself to the idea that they no longer wanted anything to do with him.
However, he almost hesitates to accept the summons. A difficult conversation lies at the end of it. All his justifications and his reasoning seem to fly in the face of Azem's anger, but he can't make himself accept that there had been any other choice. Their star had been saved. Perhaps not in a way that anyone would have liked, but Hades refuses to entertain the thought of simply letting the star or their people die.
...Azem won't wait forever. Closing his eyes and steeling himself, he lets the sunburst transport him to his friend. When the light finally fades, he is stunned to see a meal laid out. Nothing fancy, but...it is more hospitality than he is expecting. ]
[ Azem begins to wonder if their summons will go ignored. They're not sure which would hurt more, Hades ignoring it or the conversation to be had. When he does appear they force themself not to smile despite being happy to see them.
Their bond remains so perhaps he'll pick up a little on that, alongside the trepidation for the conversation to come. ]
I thought I would be hospitable. That perhaps a meal will make this...easier.
[ They motion for him to sit across from them at the low table. ]
[ He wonders why he feels pleased about it before realising that the emotion is not entirely his own. Swallowing, he pushes it aside and paces closer to the table, slowly settling across from Azem. Did Azem seek to copy Rhea'li in this matter, perhaps? The Warrior had sought to ease the pain of Azem's departure by taking him out to dinner and now here is Azem doing the same.
...How odd to think that he would have assumed it to be the reverse but a few moons ago. ]
Did neither Hythlodaeus nor Rhea'li tell you everything already?
[ He doesn't make any move to reach for the food. He's almost too nervous to eat. ]
[ Rhea'li may have rubbed off on Azem a little with the whole concept of having a meal while talking. Granted, the food was likely to go mostly ignored but it was still something nice to have, just in case.
Azem picks up one of the skewers of meat and takes a bite as Hades makes himself comfortable. ]
They have, however, they are unable to tell me your part of the story.
[ He huffs: a soft, resigned sound in the relstive quiet. He stares at the table as Azem begins to eat. ]
Where to begin...?
[ He enjoys the theatre, but he never liked being on the stage himself. How to recite a saga with so many players? So many parts to the whole? This long, winding story isn't wholly his own. Yet anyone who could contribute aught else isn't here. ]
[ A thoughtful hum can be heard from the other side of the table as Azem considers. ]
Initially, I thought to have you recount your side of things from around the time the Convocation made their decision. But mayhap it would be simpler for you to just show me?

Good evening, Emet-Selch. I hope you are doing well.
[Considering... their last encounter at the pond. His smile turns slightly awkward at the memory.]
...I was hoping to discuss something with you, if you have the time.

I'm sure Hythlodaeus would. Perhaps you might consider extending that invitation to him and Azem both yourself. I am not one for such gatherings.

I believe that should work. I'm certain that both will be more than happy to accompany you.

As for the gathering... I will let you know if I learn anything of import about this place or its magicks.
Fare you well, Emet-Selch.

Ah. Yes. I showed him Amaurot.
[ Azem must have asked to see Rhea'li's world and Rhea'li must have lied. Why didn't that miqo'te tell him?? ]

what all did you show him?
no subject
The Capitol, mainly.
The Bureau which Hythlodaeus heads. The place where the Convocation meet to discuss matters of importance.
Ah, and the Akademia.

Still, they'll play along for the moment. ]
all fine places but rather boring dont you think?
no subject
I thought it would behoove him to learn of our acts of creation, and of our people.
