Unlike the merchants of Ul'dah, the Ishgardians are a pious, god-fearing sort. They are generous and predisposed to charity...within their own.

In my country it was introduced like it has been to every single one that isn't European. Through some evangelical guy came preaching his religion. So it's been an off and on again thing for maybe the last several hundred years? Then I don't know. Successful ad campaign for fried chicken suddenly made it popular. Now it's this big old holiday for couples and eating an excess amount of fried chicken. You have to order that shit a month in advance.

I think other countries focus on the gift giving and singing shit? There's a lot about some mythical guy that flies around the world in a single night and delivers coal to bad kids and gifts to good ones.
