DIRECTED TO: EMET-SELCH LISTED CRIME: MASS GENOCIDE
The Council has selected you for sentencing to atone for the above listed crimes. You are directed to turn yourself in within two (2) hours of receiving this message, or you will be forcibly detained. You are to meet the Council's representative outside of City Hall in order to respond to this summons.
[ Emet-Selch does not respond directly to the missive. He doesn't think there is a need to. But he does stare at the message in silent contemplation for a while, wondering whether there is any merit to trying to evade their 'representative'.
In the end he does present himself to City Hall. Some five minutes before the deadline.
(At least he showed up.)
He isn't sure who he's supposed to report to so he loiters nearby, looking around for someone important. ]
[ "Won't take long," they say? Emet-Selch frowns a little. He had thought that the punishment would be final. But he mentally shrugs and follows the representative inside. ]
So you really do intend to punish us for our 'crimes'.
[ It's more a probing statement than a question. ]
[ Well, that's a delightful non-answer. He hesitates but then enters the room cautiously, wondering if the empty space is enchanted somehow. It certainly looks more like an actual cell than the world outside. ]
[Emet-Selch won't remember much after Jerry closes the door and the room goes dark. He may remember feeling judged, and voices from people he can't remember the faces of. He doesn't remember much, but he does remember the most important part:]
You, who have committed the crime of genocide have come to stand before us to atone for your crime. To show commitment to rehabilitation, we have a request:
To atone for your carelessness and lack of respect for human life, you must create something beneficial and / or protect others to prove your desire to change. How exactly you complete this task is up to you.
You have until November 10th to finish our task. If you complete it, you will be one step closer to returning home.
[When Emet-Selch becomes aware again, he's outside of City Hall, without Jerry as an escort. The paper with his crime on it will be updated to reflect this task.]
[ooc: The longer that Emet-Selch takes to complete this task, the more he will see and hear the bodies and voices of the dead and dying, both in the waking world and in his sleep. They will quiet while he is on the right track to completing the Council's request, however.
The thread or post of this action may be OOCly submitted here. Failure to follow through on this task will result in a penalty for your character in the next event.]

Come. This won't take long.
[Before he gets an answer, he'll be turning on his heel and walking into the building.]

[It's a simple answer, as he walks to a door and opens it. Inside, it looks like a pretty typical meeting room... but it's empty.]
After you.
