Sand or privacy: which is more important to you? I don't know if you want to run somewhere else without clothes, but I don't.

[She glances behind her, lips twitching. Sure, it'll scrape her back to ribbons, but such is the price she pays. Not like it's never happened before, anyway.]

The best suggestion I have is to use the rock behind us and keep from touching the ground.

[ He frowns at the rock behind her. By the tightening of his lips, he seems to have come to the same conclusion as her: it will be rough on her back.

Mouth twisting further, he glances towards Nyx. ]

Fetch us a towel.

[ The gwiber cocks its head at him before rolling its eyes in a way that suggests she isn't impressed with his decision to indulge in lustful pursuits out in the open. But she obediently disappears for a few moments, hopping out of a dark portal with a thick bath towel in her mouth. Hades takes it and steps past Irhya to spread it on the flattest part of the rock he can find. ]

...There. Will that do?

[A glance at the towel; a glance back.]

...Good enough.

[It's dark by now, the area lit only by moonlight, and it casts Irhya's form in strange, cool colors. Despite the sand potential, she feels in her element here, and leans in to press her entire front side against his.]

Ha. Never thought you'd agree to something like this...

[ He licks his lips and casts a quick look beyond her and around to check that all the swimmers and other helpers from the ship earlier in the day have truly gone home.

Satisfied, he drops his gaze down, tracing her cheek with one hand even as the other pulls her flush against him. ]

I don't plan to make a habit of it. As soon as I sense anyone coming by, I will stop to pull us somewhere more secluded.

[You're really gonna stop mid-coitus, huh, she thinks dubiously, proceeding to silently pray they luck out and get no visitors for the ten-odd minutes it'll take.]

Guess we better go fast, then, huh? Who knows who'll decide to take a midnight walk on the beach...

[Her hand slips between her stomach and his, feeling around for his shaft to try and get him warmed up. There is an air of tension that adds to the effect, though; the thrill of getting caught, of potentially having to flee from prying eyes. She doesn't know about him, but it's definitely already getting Irhya wound up.]

[ He would prefer to take his time having sex, he thinks ruefully as his hand reaches towards her tail. Despite what he says, once they get going he doubts he will have much attention to spare for minding their surroundings. ]

Mm, when I pictured making love to you with naught but moonlight to bathe us, I had a more comfortable setting in mind...

[ He exhales when her hand grasps him. It's slightly chilly thanks to the sea air blowing across the beach, but he's quick to warm with a few strokes. He leans down to kiss her whilst his own hand gently rubs the base of her tail. ]

You pictured it?

[Asked with fervent interest, as if this is the first she's hearing of him picturing anything with her. Does he really imagine things like this? She fidgets a bit, her back muscles rippling as he rubs that sweet spot at the base of her tail. It's an easy turn-on for her, almost unfairly so.]

[ He takes a small step forward, steadily nudging her towards the blanket-covered rock. ]

Then falling on to the bed and gazing into your lovely eyes as I warmed you up.

[ Rather than have her fall though, he will carefully lower her to the rock - assuming she gets the hint that is. ]

Mm...

[She's inclined to make a quip here, but can't bring herself to do it after something like that. Instead, she presses her lips together and makes a soft noise, her tail curling at the tip.]

We really haven't done that before?

No.

[ And he leans down to kiss her pursed lips, smirking. ]

All our couplings were fits of passion and lust. Including this one, in fact. Do you disagree?

Well, no...

[She continues to stare up at him even after the kiss, incredulous.]

Are you saying you want something actually romantic?

...Is that so strange, coming from me?

[ It comes out mildly defensive, with a frown, but he isn't angry. ]

No, but... did-- did I miss the memo?

[Bewilderment. Does he really view it as romantic? All the while, she's been busy telling herself it really is just lust and impulse for people they can't have, but... did he end up deciding differently?

Oh, hell. But if he thinks she doesn't feel that way, he might--]

I-- I just didn't want to presume! I mean, why would you want something like that if it felt fake, right?

[ He glances aside. It's chilly but her hand has warmed him enough that he isn't inclined to pull away. ]

The reason I initially warned you away from falling in love with me is because if you had pursued me in earnest, I would not have been able to help myself. I am not...immune to things like love, Irhya. I don't fear it being false or not reciprocated. I fear the end of it. I fear the inevitable point where you die and I'm left alone. Again.

[Oh, gods damn it. He's even admitting it. Now she's in real trouble, because neither can she. Her ears twitch upward.]

But we talked about it, didn't we? It's not like this is any mortal romance where they have kids and settle down, for either of us. Even if you were mortal, or I immortal, it wouldn't be possible.

...But I can still love you, even if we can't have those things. Knowing the truth of everything, and that this is fleeting... I still made that choice. I... I guess I just didn't want to fall too far and get smacked with that cold, hard reality again.

[ His expression falls a little - although not because of anything she says. ]

I don't expect anything so ridiculous as a family. Not from you nor anyone else. In the end, all these romances amount to little more than a temporary distraction from an otherwise tedious eternity.

That does not make what I feel any less real. But you have merely to say the word and I will forget such notions. I am content enough to warm your bed when you desire it.

...I don't want you to forget.

[Said in a very small voice, like she's afraid speaking too loud will break the layer of tension over them.]

I'm not just using you as a bed partner. I...

[She pulls her gaze up to his, even though it's a struggle to do so.]

I love you, too.

[ His expression softens. He caresses her face, holding her gaze, before leaning in to gently kiss her. One couldn't really ask for a better setting to confess such feelings - even if it was entirely unintended to linger past the sun setting. ]

...A towel on a rock isn't the most comfortable of beds, but I would still have you, Irhya.

[Irhya makes a pleased noise, laughing softly at the mild gripe. She'll get him into an actual bed at some point, but for now...]

Please.

[It's all she needs to say, her hands smoothing down the sides of his back. She'll regret it later when she's aching, sure, but the warm memory will surely be worth the pain.]

[ Without another word, he leads her over and helps her lie back on the rock. It isn't comfortable for either of them; she has to mind her back and he has to mind his knees on the sharper edges as he leans over her. Reaching between her legs, he gently begins to arouse her whilst leaning down to nip at her throat. ]

[Irhya arches up into the touch, making affirming little noises at him. She works hard to try and meet him halfway, getting herself heated up in the process.]

You know... you have the nicest hands... and your shoulders are lovely, too...

[ His mouth twitches. He wishes he could take that as the compliment it's meant to be, but the fact is that these hands aren't truly his but that of Solus zos Galvus. ]

Hmm, but who taught me how to pleasure a woman? That was you, I believe.

[ He could have the nicest hands in all the shards and it would mean nothing if he didn't know how gentle to be. ]

[Recognizing his reaction, she quickly realizes her mistake, having let herself slip. Irhya sucks a breath in.]

Ah-- sorry. I'm already kind of screwing this up...

[Though, to be fair, if he were anyone other than an Ascian, perhaps he would've found it a nice compliment. But she had to go for the one she couldn't keep in the long run. Her head rolls to the side; it figures that the one time it counts...]

It's true, though. You have gotten really good at it.

[ His eyes drop to the side. His fingers move away, but only so he can shift his weight more comfortably on the rock. He goes back to pleasuring her soon enough. ]

...If Hythlodaeus can find aught to admire in my current body, I...suppose I can accept others' compliments as well. I can hardly remember what I once looked like after all. There is little point mourning a body I lost so long ago.

Well... even if it has no bearing on your identity now, you still shaped the vessel. And it is still a reflection of you in some manner, right? Just not as closely linked to your sense of self as it is for mortal beings.

[Irhya sighs, though it's a response to his fingers more than anything.]

But the soul is more attractive to you overall, isn't it? Perhaps yours is different than it used to be, but I don't need purity to determine if someone is worth sticking with.

[It's the sort of thing she would like said to her, she thinks. Even if there are things he does that she doesn't, cannot agree with...

Things that are useless to dwell upon here, though. She smiles up at him, smoothing one hand over his shoulder towards his back.]
