Garlean InfoThe first emperor of Garlemald - Solus zos Galvus would have initially come across as caustic and disdainful but with a surprising fondness for theatrics. He is one of the older servants taken in by the Whisper on the Wind and served as a library clerk for an unknown amount of time. However, a failed attempt to escape some time into his initial tenure saw him turned into a gargoyle until the game's present time. Now, for the most part, he's content to resume his role as clerk and keep the library in order. But only a fool would mistake his subservience for blind obedience... AppearanceMINOR CHANGES His nails have grown into black talon-like claws and his hair has taken on a feathery quality. His skin feels cool to the touch and it seems as though wherever he walks he's accompanied by shifting shadows. Said shadows help him to blend in when night falls, and at other times serve as an additional menacing presence when he needs it. He usually keeps to himself and can be found intently scribbling things in the notebook he carries on his person at all times. What, exactly, he's writing about is a mystery except to those who know him well. After the Summer Hunt (May 2020), the white in his hair has expanded further into a mottled grey, not unlike that seen on grey geese. During the aftermath of Summer (June 2020), black spider-like eyes grew in on the leathery parts of his wings (one to each segment). He can open and shut them independently; they help with hunting. After the dark winter (Oct 2020), he begins to keep a journal wherein he keeps an almost obsessive account of each day, as well as another separate book where he records everything of his home he yet remembers. He also begins to look into ways to store memory. MAJOR CHANGES Large, bat-like wings with clawed elbows (like an archaeopteryx). The clawed elbows are only just strong enough to provide extra grip when he needs to perch somewhere and can't support his full weight (i.e. he can't hang from them). The wings are otherwise functional (August 2020) A pair of shadowy arms grow out of his back, above his existing arms/wings. It looks weird at first since there's no corresponding muscle around his chest but they're clearly made of shadow rather than flesh and bone. Consider them like attachment limbs. MEMORY LOSS
- Zodiark's origins and relevance to his goals. He knows he's beholden to Zodiark but thinks that the Gentry have abducted him and forced him to serve them instead. So he has forgotten why and how Zodiark was summoned, and his foggy memories fill in with the assumption that Zodiark is some sort of fifth, outside power that he must return to. However, this does NOT mean he has forgotten that his goal is to rejoin the shards of his world.
(Tying in with the first point: He will come to think that the Convocation are, in a sense, servants who serve Zodiark in a similar way that the servants in the game serve the Gentry.)
- (Exchanged for favour) Details about the Warrior of Light post-Sundering. Essentially his memory of them is akin to the general population of Eorzea: "silhouette surrounded by light" and that's it. He will still recognise their soul and remember that they're his long-time friend, but just about everything else is forgotten except for their original self.
- For his second set of shadow powers (early July 2020), he lost: what led to the Thirteenth shard falling to the void. Specifically who the main instigator was and what happened that resulted in things getting out of hand. (Since he doesn't remember Igeyorhm specifically, he forgets that it was one of the Ascians that was responsible).
- For his third set of shadow powers (Sept 2020), he lost: the circumstances surrounding whatever triggered the first Rejoining, including its element deluge (fifth shard, wind). He knows it happened he but he can't remember what it was like.
- In specialising in Shadow (Oct 2020), he gave up the following:
