It does give me cause to wonder how societies long past may have progressed had they not fallen, how the land might have been shaped differently... I had a thought to ask one who had seen it themselves what possibilities they might have once imagined. No amount of study can teach me what you have seen.

I'm sure you also noticed how the geography and terrain of the First Shard was remarkably similar to that which can be found on the Source. La Noscea and Kholusia; Thanalan and Amh Araeng; the Shroud and the Greatwood - before the Flood which annihilated all lands beyond Norvrandt, you could say the First had been an example of how the Source may have looked had its numerous calamities not torn the land apart. It was virtually untouched beyond the usual strife and rampant terraforming its people engaged in.
Each of the other shards is or was the same. Some are more advanced and would be alien to you and yours. Others have destroyed themselves over and over and remain primitive. However, to go further and acknowledge that there appear to be reflections of the reflections we do know is quite beyond anything my people once theorised over. Oh, there were debates, but before Terminus 'twas little more than a thought experiment for bored philosophers.
