Hythlodaeus smiles in return, just as fondly if more openly than Hades himself. He feels... warm, content, at peace, and that kind of warmth, he thinks, is better than the earlier fire between them. There is certainly a lot to be said for the thrill of open flirting and the playful promises masquerading as threats, but in the end Hythlodaeus knows that what he really wants is this gentle intimacy, quiet enjoyment of each other's company, of each other's existence.
