The cheek kiss is another sweet reminder of what they are now, and thus Hythlodaeus permits his eyes to linger a little on Hades as he undresses. Not that he shouldn't get plenty of chances to see that from here on now, but...

"I cannot argue with that, indeed. Mayhaps for the first time in our lives!"

He laughs and stands up to follow his friend, and it's only when they close the bathroom door behind them that Hythlodaeus suddenly leans in close, a smug look on his face.

"But I must needs point out that the, ah, exertions were all mine. Are you certain such unfair shift of the balance befits us?"
