Hythlodaeus has the time to smile triumphantly at Hades's indignation, but the kiss rather quickly ruins his smug cheer, and this time it's Hythlodaeus who can't help a small noise of surprise and embarrassment escaping him as his face flushes. He kisses back as best he can, banking on the thought that maybe Hades would find it amusing rather than disappointing.

He has to catch his breath after they part, clearly flustered--but he's not going to give up so easily.
