The words clearly tick over very slowly in Hades' mind. There is a protracted silence, during which his expression undergoes several interesting changes as Hythlodaeus' intent sinks in.

"Y-You mean to say--" Hades would honestly have continued to deny it outright if they hadn't just gone on a date. His cheeks are just as red as his friend's, if not more. "That is-- For the rest of...? I..."

For once, the words don't come fluently to him. He feels wretched. Deep longing wars with self-loathing. Does he deserve this happiness?
